Farm Fresh Pizza Toppings for Our Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten Free Friends (Part 1)

At Pop Up Pizza, we take pride in cooking our farm fresh veggies daily. The following technique will give your pizza a burst of flavor without breaking the bank, allowing you to spend less time in the kitchen and more time at the dinner table. Here is a simple recipe for utilizing a variety of healthy, quality ingredients so that you can switch things up and keep your food options fun and fresh, even if you’re a vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free eater!

First, find a good quality extra virgin olive oil. Secondly, you will need either a fine sea salt, or any fine salt that is all natural or of a high caliber.  Once you have obtained these two things, you can lightly coat your veggies in the olive oil and season them to desired saltiness!

Lastly, once your veggies are coated in your extra virgin olive oil and sea salt, put them on a baking sheet and place them in a pre-heated oven at 500 degrees. We like to let our veggies roast until we get a little carmelization or color. At Pop Up, this technique further enhances the flavors of our toppings.

Once you get a nice color on your veggies, take them out and let them cool at room temp for 30-45 minutes before using them as pizza toppings.

We hope you enjoy these simple cooking techniques and use them at home not just for pizza, but for pastas, salads, and anything creative that you come up with!
